SCHA Annual Meeting
The 2023 Annual Meeting was held on March 4, 2023, at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina.
Our keynote speaker was Joseph P. Kelly, Professor of English at College of Charleston. He delivered an address titled "Plymouth or Jamestown: Where did Democracy Really Begin?"
Details for the 2024 Annual Meeting will be released in the near future.
Register by clicking the button above or visiting this link. The $35 registration fee includes breakfast and lunch. All conference participants (chairs and panelists) must register and become members of the SCHA. Attendees must register for the conference.
The SCHA Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for scholars from across the state, nation, and world to present their historical findings. We welcome both academic, public, and independent scholars to present their work on a variety of topics, including South Carolina, United States and World History as well as work in public history and pedagogy.
All those interested in history are welcome to attend the annual conference, including undergraduate students and the general public.
SCHA also conducts its business a the annual conference, including the election of officers and board members, a review of the institution's finances, and discussions and votes on changes in SCHA policy or its constitution.
The location of the annual meeting varies by year, with both public and private colleges and university hosting the SCHA.
