SCHA Annual Meeting
The SCHA Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for scholars from across the state, nation, and world to present their historical findings. We welcome both academic, public, and independent scholars to present their work on a variety of topics, including South Carolina, United States and World History as well as work in public history and pedagogy.

All those interested in history are welcome to attend the annual conference, including undergraduate students and the general public.

SCHA also conducts its business a the annual conference, including the election of officers and board members, a review of the institution's finances, and discussions and votes on changes in SCHA policy or its constitution.

The location of the annual meeting varies by year, with both public and private colleges and university hosting the SCHA.
The 2023 Annual Meeting will be held on March 4, 2023 at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina. 

Our keynote speaker this year is Joseph P. Kelly, Professor of English at College of Charleston. He will deliver an address titled "Plymouth or Jamestown: Where did Democracy Really Begin?"

All conference participants (including chairs and panelists) must register and become members of the SCHA. All conference attendees must register.
